FINAL STYLE GUIDE

"Play is an important part of being fully human. What does play as an adult look like?"
- THE ONE LINE THAT STARTED IT ALL
This rebrand was started as an answer to this question. Culinary creativity was my dad's way of finding the “play” in his adult life. Thus, this new version of Plume Spice has an air of playfulness embedded throughout: from the colors to the shapes.
GOALS OF THE PLUME SPICE REBRAND
01
Make the brand more recognizable to reach a wider audience. Create an eye catching visual language.
02
Answer the question: Who is Plume Spice? Reimagine the blog so it truly speaks to its mission of legacy + food.
SELECTED CONCEPT
Because it connected more to the heritage and and story behind Plume Spice, the Spice Jar concept was the winner!
Now each of the recipes in the blog would be more digestible for a person learning to cook Indian food for the first time.
Check out the five spices that embody Plume Spice and Indian cooking!

BEHIND THE CURTAIN
FINALIZING THE LOGO
The original Plume Spice Logo needed some tweaking and polish.
The original wordmark's script font didn't fit the brand, so it was edited. Multiple iterations were made: overlaps, different feather rotations, and even some dabbling in Devanagari script!

FINAL THOUGHTS
Working on this style guide reminded me of how much history Plume Spice celebrates. It feels meaningful to design a system that supports storytelling and the flavors that shaped my family all at once.
